absence of diverse literature both in the classroom and in literature in
general has become a problem that some are finally beginning to recognize.
Studies have shown that the need for varying discourses in school curriculums
is imperative to the learning process for students of varying backgrounds and
cultures. On this site, I have listed resources for why diverse
literature is important along with diverse books that high school English
teachers can incorporate in their curriculum and recommended reading material
for teachers to suggest for students to read outside of the classroom for
entertainment and websites to find more diverse books. I hope that you find the information on this site useful and find that the site is easy to navigate.
